Comprehensive Chart Wizard with rollback
Building charts of any complexity is now much easier thanks to the intuitive visual Chart Wizard. Using a Microsoft Excel-like interface the wizard provides intuitive access to the most important chart features. All modifications are previewed in real-time in the Visual Studio Design surface and can be completely rolled back if needed.
13 chart types to choose from
There are 13 RadChart types to choose from:
Automatic data binding
RadChart fully supports binding to data source for series and X axis. In addition to DataSourceObject support, it can also be bound to an Array, IListSource, IEnumerable, XML, and more. Also RadChart supports DataColumn grouping which allows you to create one series for each unique value of the chosen column.
Different chart types on a single chart
With RadChart it is possible to specify a different chart type for each data series. For example, you can combine an Area and a Line chart, or a Bar and a Line chart:
Drill-down
This is a selection process, whereby a sub-set of data is displayed when the user clicks on a data point or corresponding legend item.
Active (hot) regions
Active (hot) regions allow you to define interactive areas within an image, which can be used for displaying tool tips or for determining which portion of the chart was clicked. Such hot regions can be the legend, title, label, etc. Automatic scaling of axes
Axes can automatically expand (or shrink) to accommodate dynamically added (or removed) axis marks, data points, etc. Fills and shading
Building highly appealing charts is much easier now thanks to the new support for gradient fills, hatch fills, and image fills, which can be applied to all chart elements. RadChart also supports shading and shadows, which use gaussian blur. This approach allows you to increase the chart readability, enhance the visual appeal, and achieve a 3D effect.
Secondary Y Axis
RadChart offers the highly desirable feature of having a second Y Axis. It provides means to display series from different orders. Each chart series has a YAxisType property which sets the corresponding Y axis.
In the screenshot below the blue series are being scaled by the primary Y axis, displayed in the left of the plot area, and the red one by the secondary Y axis in the right.
VS2005/2008 design-time support
RadChart can be fully customized through VS2005/2008 design time to aid you in your development.
Negative values
RadChart is not limited only to positive values or zero only. For all types of charts, excluding Pie charts, negative values are also allowed.
---->Functionality
Skin support
RadChart comes with a variety of skins to choose from which can be applied directly in design time for true WYSIWYG experience. As a result, when you change any chart skin you can see the effect right away without compiling the application. The predefined skins are applied through a single Skin property.
Custom elements
You have the ability to control the behavior of the appearance of any element manually (legend, title, label, etc). Additionally you can also define hot regions for any of those. User-defined ranges for both axes
With RadChart it is possible to define the origin, end, and step for axes, range, or item per item.
Advanced Axis Label Handling
RadChart provides you with the ability to display time, date, currency, scientific, percent, etc. as axis label. You can also rotate the axis labels, change their color, font, min and max value, etc.
Support for different image formats (.jpg, .gif, .emf, .png, etc)
You can choose to save your charts in different formats, including all popular image formats - .jpg, .gif, .emf, and .png. This option enables you to optimize the quality and memory size of your chart images.
Unlimited number of series and data points in series
There is no limitation as to the number of series and data points in series displayed by RadChart. You can add as many points and series as you need.
Anti-aliasing control
Greater control over the text appearance is available in RadChart thanks to properties for anti-aliased text/legend and crisp text.
New "CandleStick" Chart Type
RadChart now supports CandleStick financial chart
![]() Support for Spline Curve Areas
The curve behaves the same way the normal spline curve does, but also offers the possibility to fill the belonging area.
![]() “Strict mode” Support
RadChart now features a so-called "strict mode" for bar series. All XValues will be respected and bars will be positioned according to their XValues. If, however, you don't have any series items with XValues then RadChart will resume standard sequential ordering of each item.
![]() Support for Empty Values Approximation
If your dataset is missing a value RadChart can approximate it for you.
![]() Scalebreaks Support
Scalebreaks allow you to "break off" large chunks of the axis so that graphs with great amplitudes are easier to read.
![]() Intelligent Labels
The new intelligent labels dramatically increasing readability in very busy charts. The charting engine now supports newline in all chart labels.
![]() Support for Market Zones
The new Marked Zones now provide another option for chart customization.
